German Quilt Artist Annette Bamberger furnishes Chapel St. Clare with her Quilts
The German quilt artist Annette Bamberger, whose latest works will be shown at the NADELWELT Karlsruhe 2016, furnished the chapel of the retirement home St. Franaziskus in Karlsruhe with 6 quilts of Christian and biblical imagery. They show the Holy Trinity Father, Son and Holy Ghost as well as Saint Mary, Saint Francis and Saint Claire. Theres no figurativeness but a symbolic use of forms in her elaborated free motion quilting and the modest coloration only uses a few intense colours. The quilts can be visited at the chapel. On 10th June 2016 at 7.30 p.m. the artist herself will talk about her works at the chapel. Free admission, donations are welcome.
