Handicrafts as far as the eye can see
A look back at NADELWELT Karlsruhe 2026
From 15 to 17 May, it was that time of year again: NADELWELT Karlsruhe once more drew thousands of craft enthusiasts from near and far to the exhibition centre, impressively demonstrating that creative work with fabrics, yarns and needles has lost none of its appeal.
Over 10,300 visitors took advantage of the three days to immerse themselves in the colourful and diverse world of handicrafts. Across more than 14,000 square metres, 130 exhibitors presented the latest fabrics, yarns and accessories, as well as modern sewing and embroidery machines, and were on hand to offer visitors expert advice. Whether sewing, patchwork, knitting, crocheting or embroidery – the variety of techniques and materials on offer once again highlighted just how multifaceted the creative engagement with textile materials is.
But NADELWELT 2026 was far more than just a shopping fair. Particularly in an era characterised by economic challenges, uncertainties and an increasingly digital everyday life, it became clear why so many people feel a connection to handicrafts. The conscious engagement with something handmade, working with one’s own hands and the creative exchange with like-minded people create a positive counterbalance to the fast pace of everyday life. Many visitors enjoyed precisely this special atmosphere of inspiration, slowing down and community.
The numerous exhibitions, workshops and courses on offer once again made NADELWELT a meeting place for everyone who wants to do more than just admire creativity – they want to experience it for themselves.
NADELWELT Karlsruhe – three days of pure handicrafts and, for many visitors, an event that is already firmly marked in their calendars for next year: from 7 to 9 May 2027 at the Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre.
